The #pomerdinger Story

We met on January 27, 2007, in San Francisco where James was finishing his JD/MBA at Stanford and Zhenya was taking an existential break from his PhD program at NYU. James' classmate Peter hired Zhenya to bartend his housewarming "White Party" - where Zhenya, the authentic White-Russian (or Belarusian, to be precise) , was serving up blanc-de-blanc and mixing lactose-free "White Russian" cocktails.  James was enjoying them. James told Zhenya he loved Russian literature, especially Dostoevsky's Crime And Punishment. Although that detail was soon revealed to have been something of an exaggeration (he hadn't actually read the book...and had inauspiciously confirmed its authorship on his phone), the stars had already aligned and we've been together ever since.

Read Zhenya's blog post about our engagement.
